“I don’t have a swimsuit.”

“You can get one there.”

She looked up from my overflowing suitcase she had packed, repacked, and then packed again. “You think one will be enough?”

“I’ll buy you as many as you want if you zip up that damn suitcase and stop stressing out. If you forget to pack it, we can buy it there. It’s Hawaii, sweetheart, not Vietnam.”

She grabbed for the three pairs of shorts she had lying on top, but I knocked her back onto the bed. “What are you doing?” she demanded.

“Stopping you from going absolutely insane. You got it all there, Kit. I’ve watched you pack it three times. Its. All. There.”

“But what if it—”

I shook my head. “Trust me. All you gotta do is trust me.”

“I think the fact that I’m leaving my whole life behind to go to Hawaii with you is proof that I trust you.”

“You’re not leaving your life behind, you’re living your life. With me.” I brushed her hair from her face and leaned down to press a kiss to her lips.

“There’s something I need to tell you,” she whispered.

“If it’s that you snore, I already know.”

She smacked my chest. “No, it’s not that, because I do not snore,” she insisted.

“Then what is it, sweetheart?”

She bit her bottom lip, and her eyes connected with mine. “I love you.”

Three simple words, when strung together, can stop a person’s world in one breath.

“I know it’s crazy, since we barely know each other, but I just had to tell you before we left, because like I said, it’s crazy, but I can’t help that what I feel is crazy, and to be honest, it might very we—”

I cut her off by pressing my lips to hers, kissing her until she was panting for air. “I love you too, Kit.”

“Oh,” she murmured. “You love me too?”

“You seem surprised.”

“We’re both crazy. You know that, right?”

So what if we were? I didn’t care what anyone else thought about us. I had found her when I wasn’t looking, but now that I had her, I wasn’t going to give her up. Ever. “I’m okay with that.”

“We love each other, and I’m coming to Hawaii with you for four months.”

“Possibly six,” I reminded her. I had hoped it would only take four months to get the resort built, but I knew it could run longer.

“Possibly six months in paradise with you, and then we come back to Magnolia Springs.”

I pressed another kiss to her lips and nodded my head. “And then we decide on where we want to go after that.”

“You think you’ll ever want to stay in Magnolia Springs? For good, I mean?”

“One day, Kit. But for now, I’ve got you by my side, and a ton of buildings and resorts to build.”

She smiled wide and rested her hands on my shoulders. “Do you have any clue where we might go next?”

I shook my head and laughed. “We haven’t even left for Hawaii yet, and you’re already wondering where we’re headed next?”

“If I’m gonna do this with you, then I’m going to go all in.
